Marketing and distribution of prescription drugs since 1973
The Tramedico Group originated with the founding of Tramedico Holding in 1973 as an importer and distributor of prescription drugs.
Many of the products that Tramedico has put on the market since 1973 have achieved a large market share or become market leaders in the relevant market segments.
N.V. Tramedico S.A. was founded in Belgium in 1974. It’s solid and professional approach there was successful, and earned the company a good market position in a relatively short space of time.
Health and self-care products since 1982
In 1982, the Tramedico Group decided to market self-care products. This decision was taken in response to changing legislation with regard to medicines. The government’s attitude towards self-medication became more flexible.
In order to guarantee Tramedico customers professional service and expertise, the company employed specialists in therapeutic disciplines. Tramedico started with the dermolin and Essential Organics product lines.
In 2004, Tramedico took over the activities of Indros, which enabled Tramedico to expand its range of self-care products. The phytotherapeutic brand Vitotaal is one of the brands that came from Indros.
As of 1 January 2007: Tramedico Rx, Santesa and TLS
The sale of self-care products requires a different kind of expertise than that required for prescription drugs. The accompanying logistics services are also a profession of their own. This is why, as of 1 January 2007, Tramedico has divided its activities into three companies: Tramedico Rx, Santesa and TLS.
